I'm sitting on white paper again

My blood is in a clear bottle with a blue top

It should be whizzing about inside me through loops and turns

But it's standing still, exactly as it shouldn't be

I'm a little less human than I was before

I have been cut open and sewn back like a well-loved doll

I am a portfolio of experiments and test results

Roman numerals and textbook terms

How many more pieces can I lose

Until I am only a theory and no longer a human?

Poem by Nightbirde aka Jane Marczewski from her posthumous book "Poems for the dark".
